Allendale: Field Events, Concert & Fireworks


Thursday, July 4, 2013 Allendale will begin the day with field events at Recreation Park at 8:30 a.m. There will be a concert and fireworks at Crestwood Lake starting at 7:30 p.m. The fireworks will be start sometime around dusk. Rain date: Saturday, July 6, 2013

East Rutherford, State Fair Meadowlands Fireworks:


Wednesday, July 3 & Thursday, July 4, 2013 State Fair Meadowlands will sponsor a fireworks display on Tuesday, July 3 & Thursday, July 4, 2013 at the fairgrounds. The show is scheduled for 10:45 each night. There’s a ton of things to do at the fair for the whole family. Admission to the fair ranges between $7.00 to $9.00 per person. The fairgrounds are located in East Rutherford next to Meadowlands Stadium.


Englewood: Community Celebration & Fireworks


Tuesday, July 2, 2013 Englewood will host a community celebration starting at 7:30 p.m. at Dwight Morrow High School. The rain date is Monday, July 8, 2013.



Fair Lawn: Community Celebration & Fireworks


Fireworks Date Changed to Sunday, July 7, 2013 Fair Lawn will stage a fireworks display at Memorial Park. The gates open at 7:30 and the fireworks start at dusk.

Hackensack: Community Celebration, Concert & Fireworks

Thursday, July 4, 2013 Hackensack will celebrate the 4th of July with a community fair featuring games, rides, a flea market, live entertainment and food vendors at Forschini Park on River Street. There will be a concert featuring “The Infernos” at 7:15 and the fireworks will start at about 9:15.


Hasbrouck Heights NJ: Fireworks & Parade


Fireworks: Tuesday, July 2, & Children’s Parade, Thursday, July 4, 2013:The Hasbrouck Heights Lions Club present the 29th annual fireworks display at Depken Field on Monday, July 2 at sundown. Depken Field is located @ Route 17 & Franklin Avenue. The Children’s Parade is scheduled for 9:30 on Wednesday morning, July 4 at Woodland Park. There will be prizes for the most patriotic and the most creative entries.

Leonia: Sports Booster Carnival & Fireworks


Carnival: Wednesday, July 3 to Sunday, July 7 and Fireworks on Thursday, July 4, 2013 Leonia will stage a fireworks display at Overpeck County Park. The fireworks show is produced by Grucci. The Sports Booster Carnival goes on for 5 days and features amusement rides and food vendors. It is open every night from 6 to 10 p.m.


Lyndhurst: Fireworks


Saturday, July 6, 2013 Lyndhurst will host a fireworks display at the Little League Fields on Riverside Avenue. The fields open at 6:00 p.m. and there will be music, hot dogs and soda. The fireworks will start about sundown (around 9:00 p.m.)


Paramus: Fireworks, Concert & Parade


Fireworks: Sunday, July 7, 2013 Paramus will host a wide variety of events to celebrate our nation’s independence. The celebration gets a big start on Thursday, July the 4th with a parade that starts at Fairview Avenue and Century Road. On Saturday there’s a softball game between the police and the fire department at the Cliff Gennarelli Sports Complex. The fireworks display is staged at the Westfield Garden State Plaza on Sunday the 7th. Gates open at 6:30 p.m. The rain date is not noted.

Ramsey Fireworks


Saturday, July 6, 2013: Ramsey celebrates the 4th at Finch Park with a fireworks display. The rain date is July 7th. It seems that the town has cancelled all the other activities besides the fireworks as there is no information on the site about them and the town clerk did not mention any other events.


Ridgefield: Celebration & Fireworks


Wednesday, July 3, 2013: Ridgefield will stage their Independence Day Celebration at Veterans Memorial Field. There will be moonwalks and face painting for the kids, music and food. The the fireworks will begin at 9:00 p.m.

Ridgefield Park: Oldest July 4th Parade in New Jersey


Thursday, July 4, 2013: Ridgefield Park has cancelled their fireworks and the evening program this year. The parade, decorating contests, and flag raising ceremony are all slated to continue this year. The Ridgefield Park 4th of July Parade is one of the oldest in the country and the oldest one in the state.



Saddle Brook: Picnic

Bloomfield: Brookdale Park Concert & Fireworks


Tuesday, July 2, 2013: Part of the Essex County Free Summer Concert Series, this free concert with fireworks will take place on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at Brookdale Park in Bloomfield/Montclair. The concert featuring the Infernos starts at 7:30 and the fireworks will be staged at sundown.



Picnic on Saturday, June 29, 2013 & Fireworks on Wednesday, July 3, 2013: Saddlebrook will host a community picnic open to all residents at Saddle River County Park. The fireworks will be staged at Saddle River County Park at about 9:00 p.m.

Fairfield Festivities & Fireworks


Sunday, July 7, 2013 Fairfield will celebrate the 4th on the 7th this year at the Fairfield Recreation Complex. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. There will be refreshments for sale, face painters, and live music by the Cameo’s at 7:30. The fireworks will start at sundown. The event is sponsored by Imac Insurance, Nanina’s in the Park, Park Savoy, and the Calandra Family.




Livingston: Car Show, Carnival, Concert & Fireworks


Thursday, July 4, 2013: Livingston is planning a full day of activities to celebrate the 4th of July. It all starts at 9:00 a.m. in the morning with Livingston’s 20th Annual July 4th Car Show. At 10:00 there’s a patriotic ceremony followed by a carnival that features games, rides, food, an ice cream eating contest, pony rides, music and live bands that play on till dark. Radio station 101.1 CBS FM will be there to provide entertainment. There will be an American Legion Baseball game at Memorial Park Field. At dusk there will be a fireworks display to celebrate the town’s 200th birthday

Montclair Parade, Picnic & Fireworks


Thursday, July 4, 2013 Montclair celebrates the 4th with one long day full of activities. It all starts with a truly original parade in the morning. It features your normal 4th of July entries like community floats and fire engines but adds unique entries like the Mummers from the Fralinger String Band of Philadelphia that will have a zombie themed performance of “Back from the Dead”. Other standouts for the parade include the Lesbian & Gay Big Apple Corps Marching Band, The Bolivian dance troupe Corporales San Simon, The St. Columcille United Gaelic Band and The Wayne Raiders performing “The Raven: A Descent Into Madness”.


The festivities continue with a community picnic at Edgemont Park that features a Hawaiian barbecue, hamburgers, hot dogs and ice cream from Applegate Farms. There will be arts and crafts on displays, face painting, magic shows, sand art and a drum circle. The fireworks display will be staged at Yogi Berra Stadium on the campus of Montclair State University. The fireworks will start a little after sundown and there will be no rain date for them. If it rains, the parade will go on but the park events and the fireworks will be cancelled.
